AoS Units Beneffiting from multiple formations - is this legal?

I think this might be solved allready somewhere else in the forum but what if you have a situation like this:

Your army is:
-one oldblood on carnosaur
- 3 units of guard
-Sunblood
-3 units of saurus warriors
-Eternity Warden
-3 units of saurus knights
- scarveteran on coldone

Would that get you the bebefits for all four formations ( bloodclaw, sunclaw, eternal, and firelance warhosts)?

If yes.... That is F**ing insane and awesome at the same time.

I thought units could only be part of one formation unless they were in the starbeast constellation?

If your fielding the models in 4 formations yes it is legal but they only benefit from the one formation.

I think @Crowsfoot is correct the only one that allows for multiple battalions per model is the starbeast constellation (for Seraphon anyway, not sure about other factions )

It's a no. To be honest, what with the bad rep Seraphon already gets for being 'overpowered', I don't think the double buff is at all necessary.

A unit can only benefit from one battalion. However a battalion can benefit from another battalion.

Mostly yes.

Battalion is the global name of Warscrolls comprised of multiple other (unit)warscrolls
Constellation is a named one of the Battalion warscrolls for Seraphon (which includes other battalion war scrolls)
Formation could refer to the Battalion, and n this context probably will, but is also used as a term to describe how a unit is formed on the table considring unit coherency and stuff

So your army can have multiple formations? So say you have a starseer and a oldone, both being part of a formation. You get the bonusses of both formations AND the starbeast constillation?

And do the formation have to be close to each other, or can the units be spread?

You can have multiple formations in one army, but units can not fall under multiple formations. It is possible for formations to be part of a bigger formation, in which case units benefit from both the formation they're part of, and the 'master formation'

How good is the eternal starhost? And the shadowstrike formation? I heard you have to add a few points to be able to give the buffs to those units (so it's not free, almost the cost of a standard unit)

In my experience, the Eternal Starhost is great, but fragile - you'll succumb when facing mortal wounds. Also, to fully benefit, you shouldn't move, which kind of makes you a sitting duck.

I don't have any experience with the Shadowstrike formation, but it seems to output a lot of damage - even after the nerfs. Whether or not the points will be worth is, I'll leave up to the math gods.
