8th Ed. Tips on the mirror match-up

Hello All, I am heading off to a (virtually) no comp tourney tomorrow and am taking a dual slann skink cloud list. The tourney is 8 games over 3 days and has only 18 players so I am pretty sure that I will end up playing the other skink cloud list being taken by one of the top guys in the country. My question is, how does this mirror match-up go? Our lists are nearly identical except he has a party slann with metal where as I have both a metal and death slann. Trying to get to grips with eachother would seem to be a recipe for insanity. Should I just chill on my back line behind my Saurus (he has no Saurus or combat blocks) and snipe his beasts with magic to get the draw? Any insight would be much appreciated.

metal against LM is probably one of the worst lore choices. You can take look out sir against their attacks, so I'd march that death slann down there and smite him. screen with skinks and burn his units with sallies.
