7th Ed. Tiktaq'to

I have played very little warhammer and I begun just to paint. But lately I have been feeling that it would be fun to try out a couple of games.

I was wondering, is it possible to use Tiktaq'to as your army's general? And is he a hero or a lord? The reason for these questions is that I mostly paint as I said and therfor I am selecting units only on the looks and not on the stats.

But if I am going to play I will follow the rules and thus with my very small army, is it catastrophical to use him as leader?

Yes Tiktaq'to can be your leader and he is a hero choice. And I agree he does look great. I would include him in the army.

However, unless the rest of the army is very quick you won't be able to use some awesome "general" abilites.

As a flyer he will leave most of your army in the dust, and they won't be to use his good (for a skink) leadership.

But you can use him as the general. Just keep him close to the rest of the army and maybe even use another model that you like as the General and just use Tiktaq'to with his shinnanigans
