I dont know if any knows yet but our "super weapon" costs less than 100 points and is being hailed as the most devestating weapon seen so far. And that last comment was by the manager of our local GW. For every hit scored the target must pass a LD test on his own unmodified LD or be slain instantly with no armor,ward, or regeneration saves. If he passes the tests then roll to wound as normal..... :D :bored: I am never leaving home without this. With 5 attacks you have the potential to do major damage. It may be hard to take down those LD.10 characters but imagine what it could do to treemen, any kind of giant, varghulfs, tomb scorpions, ushabti/treekin. And also think how many crucial LD rolls youve seen boned. The more i learn about this book the more in love i fall.
 
Wow.. That does sound like a rather good weapon if true. Still, it will be expensive even if less than 100 points, so not much left over for protection. He would be excellent at killing so much.
 
It will be for every WOUND caused not every HIT. But with only S5 you will have a hard time getting through any armour saves, so won't cause many wounds against most characters or other multiwound models. I'd rather have a Great Weapon and another unit of skinks.

Hate to rain on your parade but I've read it 6 times in two days to make sure and checked with GW officials to make sure it wasn't a misprint. for every HIT you deal with the new Blade of Realities, the opponent takes an unmodified Leadership test, if he fails he loses all remaining wounds with no armor save allowed. If your opponent passes all test, you roll to wound as normal with the normal penalties to saves. That's almost word for word in the description. It's also less than 80 points, and our most expensive weapon, but it's LETHAL.

So, let's see what those damn Daemons have to stop our Sword of Destruction Blade!! MWUHAHAHAHAHA!
 
Also, we actually have badass armor! For example, we have a Heavy Armor that can only be given to Saurus on foot. This Saurus gains +1 Toughness, counts as heavy armor, and gives the bearer stupidity and a Scar-Veteran can afford it. Imagine that, a toughness SIX Oldblood or Scar-Veteran leading a group of Saurus or an Oldblood flying around with the Jaguar charm.

So...who can stand against us now?! We shall destroy Chaos and all of the disgusting races not fit for the Old Ones Great Plan! Skaven, Orcs, Chaos, Daemons, Undead, Beastmen, and Dark Elves will all fall before our infinite power!
 
Thanks for the back up Dalkarius. Yep every hit. 3 hit = 3 tests thats gotta make even LD.10 a little nervous. I just hope you can still take the 5+ ward with it.
 
Sadly, all of our Ward Save items (there are only two of which and only one of them provides a constant save) are at least 30 points. Out of the dissappointing 3 talisman's we have, we have the 2+ against first wound and 5+ always. There's also one that's -1 to hit the bearer, but it's a little expensive. But on the bright side, a Engine of the Gods should be able to protect him from shooting, and our new armor choices are pretty awesome.

When it says unmodified leadership, does that mean that the unit or model has to use its own leadership? Or can it still benefit from the general?
 
Steam Tank is Ld 10, and passes all characteristics test apart from Intiative tests. Sorry

I THINK, keyword being THINK, that that means that the model can only use its own leadership. Also, as for the Steamtank, if you're so worried about one, the new Carnosaur and Oldblood will tear it to shreds, lol.
 
The leadership question will be an interesting one, and I really hope it is clear... Base leadership could mean their stats, or it could mean whatever their normal leadership is at the time (ie. the general's). For example, most large mounts have low leadership compared to their riders, if you hit the mount will it use its own leadership or the guy on top? And the eternally tormenting question, Skaven ranks give leadership, will that count? GW never clarrified it in regards to banshee howl and the TK casket of souls. We shall see. Either way, for every hit that you make it is a pretty powerful weapon, especially if it allows no save of any kind. I would expect it to easily be 100 points if it reads like that.

Getting more and more excited about receiving my models and writing lists.
 
From the sounds of it, it's not really that great.
Ok, it's a nice and evil weapon, but you cant combine it with a charm of the jaguar though it's cost. Also, if you take it, you wont have a ward safe. Against units with strike first, your hero will most likely die. Or lose the combat anyway.

The weapon sounds evil but i think its going to be hard to use it at the right time agains the right enemy.

Yeah but lizards have high toughness, and okish armour. Put him on a carnosaur and you are likely going to be charging, so you should be able to kill whatever you are in contact with between the old one and the carnosaur attacking. Still, it will make a slightly fragile character. Might not be a combat character killer, even though that is ironically what you would want him to do.
 
We'll im opting for my slann + double engine anyway so i won't even have to think about it. But for 70 points ( i think? ) you can get a far more better oldblood who i also addapts of shredding complete units to ribbons with a shitload of attacks. By far, i think there are much better options.

It's 75pts for the weapon. In large games it could get interesting with a slann added to cast doom and darkness on the targets.
 
sounds like a real bad ass weapon. :bored:
but i personally think the current blade of realities is good as it is.
but isn't there anything at all that could give the old blood something protective like a ward?

If its thats models unmodified ld, I would suppose it would mean just that.. So no general ld
This truly is a heavy blade :meh:
