Hey Lizard Fellow,

I adapted this list from adam Trunzo, basically it's all about controlling the map and objectives and shoot everything that prevent this.
We got 3 of everything :
- 3 skinks for chaff / protect alpha / screen
- 3 chameleon to pop on objectives, clean target heros
- 3 units of razor to get down hard target
- 3 mages for magic superiority
- Ok summoning ( Slaan + astro + EoTg )
- Good Map control via spells ( comet / shackles ) and LoSaT²
- Excellent objectives cap ability ( Chamo ambush + skinks + LoSaT )

I like it. I know almost nothing about AS2 (or AS1 for that matter) but if I had the models I would be willing to try it.

Fairly obviously this list is a lot heavier on the endless spells and it has a couple of counter-charge units in an attempt to avoid being overwhelmed by some of the more assault-oriented armies out there but I think it is designed to work much the same way. It just uses more magic than shooting, at least partially because our shooting tends to either struggle for hitting power or for range in which case we can get zoned out from hitting important heroes.

Not that I have that many razordons yet.

Anyway, interesting that you came up with such a similar list.
 
Might be a super cool variation, just not a fan of the saurus knights unless battle lines in Dracotian Tail :) Havent tried all the endless spell combo but can be super effective.

No, to be honest they are there because they are an affordable and flexible counter-charge unit rather than because they are a very good one. Realistically I do not expect them to do much more than chew something up a bit when there are spare CP to spend and then slow down an enemy unit by just having a bunch of wounds and not really being that bothered by battleshock.

Arguably a 4th unit of skinks and an Engine of the Gods (or even a Stegadon) instead of the Knights and Scar Vet make more sense. I just feel sad if I can't find any place at all for Saurus except the Astrolith Bearer.

I do think there are some nasty endless spell combos out there to be used. I also think they are generally our best way to deal mortal wounds now that Kroak has been hit so hard, important as we do tend to lack decent rend.
 
I really dig the list! I have been toying around with using Chameleon skinks but never thought about a full three units. I will have to think about this some more, thanks for the idea!
 
I love that idea. I think 8-12 Razordons is the place to be. I've never liked Chameleon skinks that much but I totally see their merit. I wonder if you are investing too much in movement shenanigans and are lacking some punch.

What about Shadowstrike and 6 Rippers? The thing i love about your list and Rippers is that people counter Shadowstrike by turtling and bubble wrapping. That plays right into the Incantor, Comet and Shackles. Oh you want to bubble wrap and castle up? Here's a giant comet and to move out of the way you have to go through shackles. I really like that idea. You can even bait them into it and then bring down your rippers in a different turn because you're forcing them to move away from the comet.

Damn dude, time to convert a Seraphon Incantor :)
 
what if you went 3 units of 3 razordons in stead of 3 of 4 and used the 40 points from each of those to get handlers in the group?

Won both but in games , list works well, i got the comet that scares a lot enemies, and razordon do their jobs. Salamanders are cool too and can do huge damages if hits went through. The main issue is Engines. They did a bit of stuff but not that much ( 10 mortal wound and few kill , as i used them as MW output )

Then, i wonder if, as Josha said i swap those engines for a Shadowstrike . Enemy will have to deal between deploying against comet or against SS, also the SS version is 8 drops instead of 13 , i'll try it one game before choosing if i take it on a tournament in January.

Thanks for the update ! It is interesting that you didn't focus on summoning with the EoTG. I feel like Seraphon and your list is all about winning by objectives not killing so summoning skinks would be great but if you think you can shoot them offthe table, go for it.

I think it's awesome you are running 12+ Razordons. My lists are a little more balanced, I went with 8 razors, 40 skinks to start, an eotg and 6 rippers in shadowstrike, but I like the raw power of all the razors.
Your 2nd list is a little light on troops and no Eotgs. I'd be a little worried about objectives, but I still love the list.
 
(Sorry if this sounds nooby) I have started collecting Seraphon and I am wondering why are razordons better than salamanders?

Because razordons dont need handlers (they give only repeat 1's to hit) but salamanders without handlers only have 8 inches of range, with handlers are like razordons' range.
 
Both are good. If you have both near an Astrolith Bearer, and do the dice math, they roughly do the same dmg. The Salamanders have a high chance of doing more dmg against higher armor due to the rend but they are much higher variance. Razordons also have their added bonus of free shots against people charging them.

The biggest thing is range and consistency.

Yea razordon are more stable and loads of dices tends to impress other players so they want to kill them asap ! Also you can teleport razordon and shoot . Salamanders are really cool and can do huge damage but it's more spiky in terms of randomness.
@Joshua Horchler Considering the lists, it depends, the version with 2 EoTG can go from summoning to MW output, depends if i need to kill target down asap. For instance, i got to kill a glotkin super fast so they did damage but again stormcast, needed more screen so they went full invoke.
I'm not sure the list with reapers got less bodies in the end, i summon same stuff since i dont use EoTg as summoning tool. Also i think having a lower drop count is cool to take initiative and makes enemy think more about their deployment. Do i want to take a comet in my castle, or to spread and give opportunities ? I have to try it at least once :)
 
I love both lists. I definitely think both can work I was just playing devils advocate.

I tend to be a slightly more defensive objectives player so only 30 skinks scares me :) but you can make it work with all your fire power and threats

I'll test it friday before the tournament and chose which one i'll bring :D
 
So i played this weekend a 1 dayer 12 players tournament. No realms rules. I got that list without a single tweak and it went pretty well.
First faced Top Nagash list ( Nagash 30 grim / 40 skels necro vamp 10 wolves ) He played perfectly and thought game was lost turn one, couldnt Alpha or approach with razordon... until he failed a charge with the big boy, leaving him alone his nighthaunt guard. 10 razordon and 6 rippers later, he was dead. Couldnt get the major victory because he played really slow but got the Minor victory.
Then ... another death !!! Manfred / vordrai / 40 skells and bunch of stuff. He failed his deployment, got first turn, manfred out turn one. Major victory.
And my final game was against SCE , Celestant prime and Starkdrake and lots of fulminator. Basically was super hard, drake didnt want to die at all and celestant prime one shot my EoTg. I won on a double that saved the slann and allow me to finish his big guys.

Finished 2nd behind a Khorne player ( that feared to face me all day ^^ ) and i'm now the Razordon guy ;D
 
Ty for update :) Sounds like you played well. Did you like the idea of comet and rippers together or will good opponents just outplay them?
