The 13th Black Crusade is assaulting Cadia. Abaddon leads one of the greatest united forces of Chaos ever seen, entire legions united under his command, corrupted Knights, Titans of the Dark Mechanicum, greater daemons… and a vast fleet, including countless dreadnoughts and the blackstone fortress “Will of Eternity”.
But Cadia is defended by the Imperial elite: not only the valiant Cadian troops, but countless companies of Astartes, knightly houses, titanic legions, the Sisters of Battle with Saint Celestina, the Adeptus Mechanicus with Belisarius Cawl, over 50 Imperial Navy battlegroups flanked by the Imperial Fists with the immense Phalanx fortress ship…
Across the planet battles rage, but in some places the stakes are extremely high, fights led by some of the commanders-in-chief, objectives so crucial that only the best troops are employed.
And this is one of those points, a defensive node that could influence the grand scheme of the whole battle, both on land and in orbit…
The Imperial defensive line protects an ancient and powerful Adeptus Mechanicus war machine, brought to Cadia millennia ago from the Forge World of Lucius: a Macro Engine Ordinatus, a cannon capable of annihilating Imperial Titans and with a range sufficient to reach Cadia's orbit, capable of tearing a cruiser in two and seriously wounding even a battleship.
But the tricks of Chaos are countless, and a violent surprise assault has been prepared: exploiting orbital launches, warp tears, and the Will of Eternity's archaic mega-teleportation chambers, companies of Chaos Marines led by the finest Chaos champions, hordes of Daemons and Greater Daemons, and several Chaos Knights materialize in front of the defensive line.
There are 5 objectives, each one with its own peculiarity:
Imperial Deployment Objective (Fortress of redemption)
This is the Sector's command center, where all battlefield information converges, providing superior insight into the tactical development of combat. The team that controls the fortress at the start of their turn gains 1 command point
Chaos Deployment Objective (Imperial Hangar)
The Chaos assault has captured an automated maintenance center. All vehicles within 1" of any point in the hangars at the start of their turn are healed for 2d3 wounds, all vehicles within 3" of any point in the hangars at the start of their turn are healed for d3 wound.
No Man's Land Objectives (Quad cannons)
Any model and/or unit controlling an emplacement, if enabled to fire it, can use the cannon (Quad cannons, twin linked - 4, 48" 8 / -2 / 3)
Objectives in No Man's Land (Ordinatus cannon)
This is the focal point of the battle and has special rules, you fight inside the structure and basically it shoots using a 5" blast template with scatter dice
Objectives in No Man's Land (Ordinatus cannon)
This is the focal point of the battle and has special rules, you fight inside the structure and basically it shoots using a 5" blast template with scatter dice
basically each team can send into the cannon up to 2 squads, via basic move or charge. if there are 2 enemy units, your unit will engage both of them. Once inside, you can only shoot with pistols.
if you control the cannon at the start of the turn you take victory points, if you control it at the end of the move you can fire it.
you select a hitting point for the template and roll a scatter dice: if the shot deviates, you roll a d6 to see how good is your control: on a 1, it scatters 3d6", on a 2-5 it scatters 2d6", on a 6 it scatters 1d6".
Everything under the template, is destroyed with no save. Units with more than 20 wounds are destroyed only if under the central point of the template, otherwise they lose half of their starting point.
