8th Ed. Tail special rule?

Ok I'm fairly new to lizardmen (loved them for years but only just started playing fantasy) so I have probably just missed something really obvious. Looking at various forums and trying to find more rumors, I have noticed a few people on various forums talking about Saurus possibly losing their "Tails" special rule. I didn't even know this rule existed. Where is it? I can't find it in the army book, and I can't find it mentioned outside a few different forums, but the date on the threads were all from 2013. Have I missed a special rule or something? Is it a special rule from last edition some people are still using? I am very confused

Might be a house rule or something I guess, I could only find a few posts with it mentioned, sounded like it gave an extra attack or something. Just figured I'd check here to make sure my Saurus went missing out. Thanks.

I don't have my books on me right now, but Saurus used to have a rule called Primal Fighter or something similar. This meant one attack was considered a bite attack at the normal strength of the Saurus, regardless what weapon they use. I believe that this was a way to justify their extra attack. So with spears it meant the second rank only got one attack and characters had to make one at their regular strength, regardless of what weapon was used. I think they all but phased it out in 6th edition, but it was relevant in 5th. 7th has no such rule and 8th makes it irrelevant with the supporting attacks rules.

So yeah. Maybe that?

EDIT: The rule was called Predatory Fighter. Looks like it's making a comeback in the new book, but with different rules.

That could be it. They did mention it like the tail was used but that could just be misinterpretation. I know some people do like to use old army books.

Saudis had a bite attack but there was never anything about a tail attack.

The only tail attack I can come up with (prior to Monsterous Arcana) is the Wyvern.

IIRC, the rule for saurus was the "predatory fighting" rule with the fluff indicating saurus were particularly savage when in direct combat. Essentially, it nerfed spear saurus since it meant that only saurus in the front rank got the 2 attacks on the profile while the second rank only got 1 attack (this was prior to supporting attacks so spears were the only way to get anyone other than the front rank fighting at the time).

I only started playing toward the end of 6th ed so 5th ed is out of my league However, I'll check our local store as they have a veritable treasure trove of old books in the back.

I would assume the Tail Attack was an interpretation of the Bite Attack. 5th had it, 6th kind of had it, 7th didn't have it, and now 8th is apparently making it better. (according to hearsay)

From the 5th edition rule book:

Bite Attack:
Saurus have multiple attacks, one of which is a 'bite' attack. Bite attacks are always worked out at the basic Strength of the Lizardman - they do not recieve the Strength bonuses or other bonuses from the Lizardman's weapons.

From the 6th edition rule book:

Predatory Fighters:
Saurus Warriors are vicious fighters whose bodies and armament have been created to maximise their fighting potential in close combat. As well as their well-designed weapons, they make use of their bony crests, powerful jaws and claws. Even their shields are designed to strike and slash with, making them formidable opponents.

However, this instinctive and predatory fighting style works best at close range, so Saurus Warriors fighting with spears may only make a single attack, rather than two, if they are positioned where they can attack in the second rank of fighting against a foe to the unit's front.

Saudis have no bite attack and have a tea-towel attack
