is this magical banner Battle standard wich can be destroyed by rule of gold or vault unmaking spells or am I wrong ??? is it a joke ?
 
I don't quite understand your question? Vaul's unmaking can destroy any magic item.
 
Sorry for my bad english... in LM army book page 62 , under magical items section for Lord Mazdamandi there is a magical banner Sun standard of Hexoatl... Is this Banner has a magical ability or its magical ability is being an Army Battle standard ?

If some one cast vauls unmaking on Lord Mazdamandi and I select Sun standard of Hexoatl for target, what happens ?
 
it not a magical BSB, it's just a normal BSB that has some special name....
so vuals unmaking and so doesn't work on the bsb.
 
I believe the reason why it's under the 'Magic Items' is because GW didn't want to make another section with the topic 'Non-Magical Items' or something like that. The item clearly states that it is the army battle standard, nothing more, so it aint magical sonny.
 
I'd say if it were unmade, the banner would just become a normal Battle Standard. I think any banner that breaks the rules of normal banners is probably magical, you just have to figure out beforehand and play it that way.
 
Eh, if it says it is a magic item you don't really have a case against it being even if you think the intent was there. It is a magic item that basically becomes the BSB. GW could have simply said at the start of his rules section that he counted as the BSB as well, but they didn't, they chose to make the BSB a magic item. I say as strange as it sounds, it can be destroyed by Vaul's.
 
Still even if it is it just turns into a regular one so it is a sacrifice magic item for the first hit.
 
People need to be careful trying to read into intent of game designers and rulebook writers.... its a murky road and its easy to get lost.

I always and I mean always play RAW unless it has been errated or a TO at a tourny rules otherwise or has in house rules in place that have been given via some sort of notification before the tournament. Same goes for peoples house rules I am happy to play by them so long as I know what they are.

RAW states this banner is magical and thus it must be played as aMagical banner ie item that can be targeted by spells both positive and negative.

What is it going to turn into though? It isn't a magical BSB because it doesn't do anything a normal BSB doesn't do. I think it is a magic banner that gives the effect of a BSB, thus if nullified it stops being the BSB (the effect of the magic item as listed in its description) and resumes being the mundane version, a normal banner like a unit can have. A bit counter intuative since Slann normally can't have one of them, but that is probably how I would play it IF some HE player first got the spell, second successfully cast it without me trying to dispel it, and third actually targetted that item rather than one of the others. Not very likely to come up.

Because really it isn't a mundane BSB that is magically enchanted to be a BSB, thats just silly then it would just be a BSB.
