A humble dread saurian approaches you all he has been toying with 8th ed and now he wants to learn some fun ideas for his army. He plays mostly for fun and would like to do 3k point battles. -translated from a series of growls, roars, hissing, and head gestures

Note I dont have a seraphon rulebook so I dont know exactly what does what yet but I do have access to a few. Bits on models

This depends on what you have and what you'd like to field - more skinks and more saurus, and how do you feel about summoning.

Hmm good question I'm not sure how summoning works but from what I'm reading in the forums I gotta wait a few turns to summon some bonkers things

a slann can chose to not cast a spell for 3 summoning points the points can them be used to bring in more lizards

Lord Kroak and dinosaurs mortal wound spam to create utter chaos for your opponent! :D

Does unit choice matter much at all?

well, usually yes; when you summon something you shoud call that unit for a purpose, possibly the one that fits better the moment of the game, and it depends on the scenario, what the opponent's units are, what do you need…

sometime it's double 10 x skinks, sometime it's 3 razordons, sometime it's a Troglodon…

Or you just plan it before, and you know you just want to drown your opponent with endless droppng of salamanders

So my entire army is just waiting for my slann to summon them? Or do I have to field other units?

You field your 2000 pts army (if you're playing at 2000 pts), then you proceed with the summon of additional units

3k points but thank you for clarifying for me. Like so how does starhost bonus stuff work or like what formation allows a dread saurian?
