8th Ed. Solardons: Flinching under Fire?

I got a Bastiladon for Christmas, with the Solar Engine.

I read what I could find on tactica here and on EEFL.

I would love to have some real life experiences with them. Seems like they could be easily dispelled, but maybe that’s the point about using up dispel dice. Bit expensive for this. And a 50% chance to do some pathetic strength hits...

So 3+ to cast, 4+ to do something useful.... so 30% chance to actually do something and can only be used once per turn.

Not really useful in combat (or so it seems)...

Anyone have some tales of the Oversized-Turtle-with-Lazer?

I think the bound spell is not that great, its more about its cheap body and its 2+ save that makes me like him. I think they are great units to have alongside Sauri units to get an edge in combat (you can almost always fit his base in somewhere), and i see his Bound Spell as something to use when your Slann is dead i guess.. but you have already lost if your Slann is dead so it is not really a consideration.

Yeah i have! Its a tough, cheap, ok monster IMHO. Especially in lists with a lot of monsters it is pretty good, as your opponents Cannons are unlikely to shoot at it, and it is a cheap way to over saturate their targets.

Mostly just as a dual charging unit, so it works in tandem with a unit of Sauri. Does enough damage, and protects the flanks very well.
