Solar Engine Irresistible Force Qustion

So, played a quick 500 pt game against VC. They took Hexwraiths and the only thing I had going for me was the Basti. I rolled IF and managed to do only 1 wound.

Anyways, the question is what happens with IF and the Basti? I know I don't need to worry about miscast chart, but is it treated like a bound spell attached to an item? If so, the item crumbles and can't be used again. Or, is it an innate ability which we just ignore any ill effects and keep on blasting?

It is stated as an "innate" bound spell. page 37 of the rulebook says the model can't cast further bound spells this phase. Aka next magic phase zap'em again haha
