8th Ed. Skirmishing slann?

Is there anything in the rules that say a slann joining skirmisher skinks wouldn't give the slann skirmishing as well? I wouldn't think so, but I do know the slann is sometimes soloed out because he technically isn't a model on foot.

If so, has anyone run one like this? and how has it worked out?

As far as I can see it would be possible since it just says characters with mounts may not join skirkisher units, and the palanquin is most certainly not a mount even though it technically means he isn't counted as on foot for some situations.

I have never tried it though.

He would indeed skirmish, but due to base mismatch would go on the side of the unit.

It could be argued that he only needs to go to the side of the unit while ranked up for close combat, while in skirmish order the base size mismatch doesn't need to affect the unit.

This isn't a foolproof argument but a solid discussion topic!
