I have seen these from time to time in pictures, basically a solid flat of something with small squares cut out for the skirmishers to slide in to. Does anyone use these? I am commonly stretching my movement to the max and am putting my skirmishers in weird arse positions, but I feel this would really speed up game play in the beginning, not to mention leave me a template of where I started from for those awkward movement phases when you go toe to back with your opponent.
As far as making them, I was thinking of getting two wood plys and laser cutting out the squares from one and gluing them together. What is your method for creating these sorts of trays if you use them.
And finally, is there generally interest in stuff like this? I know that laser cutters are not easy to get a hold of, I am just lucky that my GF has one available to her at her college.
