8th Ed. Skink Priest with Dragonbane

Is there anything that a Skink priest (with the dragonbane gem) can do? Once my guy has used his dispell scroll... he might as well take advantage of a 5 point item and charge something with flaming attacks... I just can't think of anything yet...

There is basically nothing he could kill on his own. Anything that has regen is vulnerable to fire, but most of them also will just beat him up.

Better to keep him alive for channeling, for that extra spell if its ever needed (Slann fails to cast early or something) and for victory points.

a ~60 point character with a 5 point magic item is rarely a brilliant combo that will save you the day. If he is close to the general you could tie up a unit of flamers for a long time, but that is about it. against normal units with the flaming banner he will struggle, since he will lose a bit too much for comfort on the static combat res.

Skink priests can be good
Dragonbane gem can be good

its just that they dont automatically ill achieve greatness just because you combine them.

Its a pretty handy item if your EOTG Priest routinely gets sniped by 'Golden Hounds' or assassinated by characters with flaming attacks. Bit restrictive in that regard though. On a foot Priest, its pretty pointless as flaming attacks are the least of your worries.
