AoS Skink heavy starter lists

Hi all,

I've been lurking these forums for the past few weeks gathering information about Seraphon synergies and tactics and I'd like some feedback on a 1000 point list I've decided on and a 2000 point list I need help with. I've been having trouble making a 2000 point list in general so any advice about it will be appreciated. Thanks.

I like the shadowstrike starhost in general and I wanted a dinosaur to paint for my first 1000 points so I've decided on this list. Any suggestions on changes are more than welcome though.

This was my first draft of a 2000 point list. I wanted to include the shadowstrike starhost again but in, what I've read, is a pretty potent configuration. I put a dread saurian in there because I like the idea of a giant killing machine running around with a bunch of tiny skinks. I was considering dropping the skink units down to 10 and running 6 ripperdactyls but I feel like I'd need the bodies for objectives. Any advice and feedback on this list or even a completely new skink themed 2000 point list will be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome aboard !

At 2000points it would be better to either play a threatening huge blob of 40 skinks and 2x10 for screens or 1x10, 1x20 for some harassing and a 30 one for bodies, trouble making unit

They biggest issue you ll probably face will be against high number hordes that will be swarming your small / mostly fragile units but the with some careful placement and movement this could work !

Shadowstrike is nice indeed.
Remarks on your lists:

- The 1000 points list is very fragile. If you get first turn and snipe your enemy it will work, if you don't get first turn you are probably toast.
- IMO if you have 40 Skinks it is better to play 1x 30 and 1x 10 Skinks, use the smaller group as chaff / objective claimers and buff the bigger one with the Skink Chief, it is more effective. At 2x 20 the enemy just kills one Skink of each group and you lose all the bonus.
- Same for the 2000pt list, I'd rather play 40, 20, 10 than 20,20,20

Your 1k list is well built with great synergy, but pretty squishy. The 2k list is pretty killer. That dread and bastiladon is always fun.
I would probably try something like this to get a an extra monster and some healing, with some heavy hitting.

Thanks for the replies. I can see your points about the skink unit sizes. As it stands killing 1 skink would render the unit pretty useless.
Does anyone have any experience using a dread saurian? The more I think about it the more I just imagine it getting tarpitted the whole game.
