7th Ed. Simple Lizardmen list

Ok so here is a simple list I just made, it's 1500 points.

Core
2x12 Skinks
15x2 Saurus warriors /w spears.

Hero
1 Skink priest, lvl 2, plague of tepok, EOTG
1 Saurus Scar-Vet, burning blade of chotec
1 Saurus Scar-Vet, light armour, shield of the mirrored pool, sword of the hornet

Special
10 Temple guards
5 CoC, Musician,

1500 points total

Tell me what you think, I chose not to take terradons for the simple reason of missing 2 to have a unit

Well TG aren't really worth their points without a Slann( at least to me).

Also the 8 CoC are a bit to many for my tastes, I typically run them 5-6 wide and I find that works best. 8 wide is too unwieldy, and 4x2 your not getting the full advantage.

Also you can't put the cloak of feathers on a priest with a mount.

At 1500 I would try and get another character in there. I would probably drop the TG completely, make the CoC a unit of 5, and add a Scar-Vet on a Cold One to that unit. And possibly make both units of skinks skirmishers.

He can't use the cloak, he's a mounted model.

If you keep these guys at 10, definitely drop the Totem of Prophecy. A fear causing unit with US 10 won't autobreak a lot of units. I'd use the points to bring the unit up to 15 and give them a musician.

8 CoC, Musician, standard bearer, Sun Standard of Chotec
Bring that unit down to 6

I'm not sure I'd go to war without at least one Scar-Veteran with the Burning Blade of Chotec to take care of creatures with regen or ethereal baddies. Your list looks similar to the one I have in mind at 1500 pts, I think it's posted on the forums if you want to have a look at it.

Longer answer: Last time I had 1500 points I had tiktaq'to and Chakax, Chakax got 1 wound and was in next round killed by a bone giant, Tiktaq'to didn't come before 5th round and could do nothing so I put them away for a while.

I did not mean a named character. tiktaq'to and Chakax at 1500 is way too many points invested in so-so characters(and I am being nice saying they are so-so, although their models are awesome).

I meant a hero like a scar-vet. Your Priest on the EOTG is way to easy to kill if they get your stegadon into combat, as they can target your priest directly. Besides the fact your sitting on top of a large target. And a LD 6 general is not always the best choice. I would even go so far as to say in the current meta-game(pre-8th), you might even want 3 characters at 1500.

Sorry it is not possible to have multiple magical items. So you can't have multiple BBoC on the Scar-vets.

Without the books in front of me you can only have multiple dispel scrolls and power stones I believe(unless it says specifically you are allowed multiples).

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but you can't have the sword of the hornet AND the shield of the mirrored pool on the same scar veteran; that's a total of 55 points of magic items on the same hero. Other than that, the list looks pretty good.
