a saurus scaly skin save is 5+ is that with or without the shield?

In combat only, when fighting an enemy to the front (not flank or rear) if you use a hand weapon and shield then you get +1 to your armour save, yes. This is described in the main rulebook. Note that it doesn't count for magic weapons unles they explicitely state that it does.

if you are using a spear then you need to say your dropping spears and using hand weapons

alternately you can get the battle for skull pass mini rulebook which is pretty much complete for about 10 bucks on ebay

That is completely illegal as it breaches copyright laws, so you cannot talk about it on the forum, especially not any indication of how to get the files. Yes, a lot of people do it, but it is best to just not discuss it on the forum, for the same reason we do not post points values or specific rules/stat lines.
