7th Ed. Saurus Warriors: Spears or Swords

I don't know why i worried but is there any different on spears and swords for saurus warriors.. i know theres a difference on their look but is there some rule with spears gives more points then swords or swords have some special abillity?

All weapons have their own special abilities. Spears enable the second row of a unit to attack as well as the first. Read the rulebook.

Spears allow the second rank to attack unless they moved during that turn (i.e. charged). Swords, being hand weapons, cna be used in conjunction with a shield in order to gain a further +1 armour save in close combat.

even on the charge i tend to use spears because if i get stuck in multiple rounds of close combat i might REALLY need those extra attacks

Don't know, don't care. But it's on page 56 of the current one.

An important thing to remember too, is taking the spear upgrade doesn't get rid of the hand weapons and you still retain the option. Sometimes you will face off against something that you absolutely cannot expect to hurt with your str4 attacks and instead try to rely on static combat res. HW + Shield gives you that +1 armor, which can make a big difference. Once my new computer is up and running, I plan on working out the general stats of a charging opponent where pulling out hand weapons works out to better advantage than spears.
