Yup. The downside is they all have no rend. But they do make a good target for the starpriest's serpant staff ability.

Nah, it's fine. large number of attacks with poor to hit (if unbuffed) and no rend it's fine. The typical unit that works on saturation.
They are scary when properly buffed.

Coalesced knights are solid, and with some support they can hit hard,

but when they're in koatl's claw they hit with the force of a freight train, seriously nothing is safe from buffed koatls claw knights on the charge
