Monstrous mounts do not provide an addition to armour.

Might want to check page 105 in the book there, though this is a change from 7th

Armor is useless agianst warmachines, go for the ward saves my friend.

Hmmm...
A plain stegadon could make for movable cover...?

hah, i like it!

tbh, i know it might be sad, but hide him for the first turn and take out thier cannons/whatever with chamo skinks, at least give the carno a chance that way?

My mistake! But I believe the statement about armour is correct. It's virtually useless against warmachines. Taking a ward save is your best bet since the mount and rider are considered one model so they both get the save.

Cannons don't allow you to take any save since it's now impossible to have negative armour saves.
Simply put a cannon is now a point and shoot instant kill button on most models.

This is true. I wonder why they didn't keep the cannons 'no armour save' instead of making it impossible to save at all...weird.
