When I was a kid, Donatello was my favorite out of nerd solidarity. As I revisited TMNT as an adult, I appreciate Leonardo's sacrifice and maturity. In the newer iterations of TMNT, I find Mikey more entertaining than in the earlier iterations.

Raphael is necessary for narrative balance, but I think he is my perineal least favorite turtle pick. Oh is Raph going to storm off in a huff and then return when he is needed most, what an unexpected twist!

Nice one. I have now and again seen some episodes but I wasn't a frequent watcher... plus it has been quite a long time ago.

So I can, as of yet, not make an educated vote for one of the options. I will come back at you in a while ;)

One of the rare times we find ourselves in agreement. Although it must be said that my selection is far more decisive. Leo has been my favourite ever since I was a young kid and has never waivered.

Leonardo:
  • most skilled
  • most disciplined
  • leader of the group
  • coolest weapon set

My order would be:
  1. Leonardo
  2. Michelangelo
  3. Donatello
  4. Raphael

If we come to the same conclusion for different reasons, we have concurring opinions, not agreeing opinions.

I briefly thought about going to Law School till I realized how many hours lawyers and law students put in.

Our reasons are not entirely dissimilar. While maturity and discipline are different things, I think we are largely describing the same trait (or family of traits) in terms of Leo.






Any bets on @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl being one of the two people who voted that they hadn't seen any TMNT movies/shows?

I can't blame you.

I grew up watching the 1980s/early 1990s TMNT. I enjoyed the 2012 remake as an adult and view it as an improvement in most ways. Better animation, more complex villain plots, and better character arcs. But I honestly do not believe I would have liked it if I didn't have memberberries from the 1980s.
 
The results of this poll are quite surprising. Typically Michelangelo is voted to be the most popular turtle. Of course we are dealing with an extremely limited data set. With that in mind, the only significant conclusion we can make is that TMNT does not seem to be very popular among our forum community.

Michelangelo has the funniest one-liners but he never really has a character arc (not that the other three have Shakespearian character arcs).

Leonard: "Then why did you make me leader?"

Splinter: "Because...you asked."

Leonardo: "That's it? But you seemed so certain you were right."

Splinter: "As a leader, you will learn that there is no right and wrong, only choices"

Leonardo: "So you could have chosen any of us?"

Splinter: "Yes"

Leonardo: "Even Mikey?"

Splinter: "No (chuckles), that would have been wrong."


But really Splinter is my favorite character.
