Quick two questions

Can he use his command abilty on himself? (On claws would means auto hitting which in turn would mean auto pinning for the bite).

Does his command ability only effect one hero?

1) He can indeed, as per the FAQ all units count as being within x" range of themselves at all times.

2) "Whenever a Saurus Hero attacks" implies that you can use it for each eligible unit within range, so you could use it on more than one hero at a time.

It isn't auto hit, you just get 4 attacks with claws instead of 2.

From the wording, I would say you can choose freely.

This comand abilty alone if you can use it freely and on multiple champs seems to be well worth the extra 60 points over the scar vet. Only things is he has slightly less defence but gets a sweet ranged weapon to make up for it.

You can choose the mount attacks as well.
