I plan on having solid battle line with all of the saurus warriors up front with the EOG right behind supporting as i march across the field. line up the carno on one flank and the cold ones on the other and just use the skinks as screens and to try and harass as much as possible.

I play with local group of freinds who have high elves scaven an Brit's we are all apposed to magic heavy lists and simply play for fun but not to say we are not competitive we just dont like how overpower'd it can be. This is the first 2000pnt Lizardmen list i have made so plz let me know what you think and what i should change :).
 
I have played some similar list in the past, and they worked pretty good. :)
 
I love CoC from an aesthetic perspective ("ROAR!"), but if you want to be a little more effective I'd swap them from Cham Skinks, Sallies, or Terries. That said, if you love them: TAKE THEM :)
 
Against your High Elven and Skaven opponents, you may want to have your carnosaur within range of the Engine's ward save against shooting, might help him live up to his potential for destruction.

And ya CoC arnt that great but... i have them model'd on dark elf cold ones and they look AMAZING!!! so im just gona say screw it and use them till they fail me lol.

but in the future i will proboly switch them out for some flame spewin sallies :bored:
 
I've recently been taking CoC in a competative environment and they work.

That being said it depends on the meta game, there is a lot of metal magic being thrown around the UK tournament scene atm so CoC can get munched down.

I would advise taking them only in a magic dependant list a tooled up slann with becalming and banehead/feedback scroll who can keep those metal/shadow wizards in check from searing doom/pit of shades.

Also the slann allows the CoC to carve through things they normally wouldn't be able to too through buffs and hex's which otherwise CoC can stick on for too long and get flanked/reared.

and definately a skink with a scroll/cube.

If you want to go down the carnosaur root I would probably advise ditching the CoC for more chaff.
 
It looks like a nice list! I think you want to use the oldblood for monster/character hunting because of the piranha blade.

I think in this list 3x20 saurus with handweapons work much better. I think you want to go forward quickly with your carnosaur and warriors to multicharge the enemy.

Replace the cold ones for 3 terradons very nice when hunting war machines, want to contest objectives or want to get him from front and back.

Make the skinks in stead of skink skirms normal skinks, works very nice in my battles

You can put an army standard bearer in your list, scar-vet + bsb or give the skink priest the item plaque of tepok for an extra spell and put some salamanders in your list or an normal stegadon

We have house rules where you can be over as long as you are no more than 10pnts over the agreed point limit.

All of your comments have been helpful and im still somewhat new to fantasy so anything and everything helps. tell me what you guys think of this list and like i said i play against Skaven High elves and Bret's

Skaven opponent: wizard of some sort lots of clan rats and slaves rat ogres and a few weapon team guys not sure what there called and ect. no warmachines though.

Highelves: He brings 2 wizards, seagaurd, sword masters, the big flying lion bird things lol, lion charriots bolt throwers ect.

Bret player: magic person lots of kinghts, archers and a butt load of infantry not sure what he brings.

A "BSB" is different than a unit standard bearer. You have them confused. Most units can take a standard, but there is only ever one BSB and he's a character and comes from that point %. The list looks good, though. The engine will come in handy. they demolish low T, high armor stuff like bretts and elves. Those sallies are gonna run riot on the skaven. Yes you are correct i was getting the 2 confused!!!

So what exactly dose a BSB do apposed to just a battle stranded and with the list i posted above would it be worth moveing some things around to take one?
 
Baum, there are "unit standards" which are usually just called "standards" for short, and there are "battle standard bearers" usually called "army standards" or "BSB" for short. Think of it as each unit having their own tiny one for themselves, then the army as a whole has a big ass one to represent itself. Each unit can take one standard (usually), and each army can take one BSB (usually).

The unit standard is just a small upgrade to buying the unit (usually about 10 points or so, found in the back of the army books in the unit purchase entries) and gives the unit special rules covered on page 94 of the LRB, and is considered part of a unit's Command Team along with Champions and Musicians.

The BSB is an upgrade to a hero-level character (usually, our Slann are one of the exceptions) and has special rules found on page 107 of the LRB. For us, the BSB entry in our army book is on the bottom of page 93 in the little box at the bottom. This is one of my pet peeves, hiding important rules in weird places (although not nearly as bad as the Blowpipe rule...REALLY??? In a sidebar next to Skink Chiefs??? WTF...)

LRB is the Little Red Book, the paperback one that comes with "Island of Blood" and is the rulebook used by most players because it is small and can be carried easily. You can get them on eBay for like $20. BRB is the, you guessed it, Big Red Book. The hardback one you can buy for like $50 or whatever by itself at games stores. There's also a "collector's" rulebook floating around that is leatherbound and has tons of fluff and stuff in it. I picked one up when they came out and it's cool and all but they're going for like $150 brand new on ebay. Not worth it.

A BSB is almost always a good idea, they provide LD test re-rolls and a CC resolution bonus that are covered in the rules. We don't "need" them as bad as most armies because our LD is pretty good to start with, but it does make us even better. They're not mandatory to purchase in your army but I don't think I've ever played a game without one.
