8th Ed. New player 2000 point list

Hi i am really new to playing Warhammer and this is a revised list from my first i will be mostly against High Elves, Empire and Daemons of Chaos any thoughts would be helpful

Life. For the disciplines i will probably be using Focus of mystery and higher State of Consciousness

looks like a verry small army though,

I think 30 saurus will do, dont upgrade them!
and use the points you gain on a unit skinks, they'll do more damage points then they costed..

but I'm not really sure but it looks like a small army!

Some thoughts.....

Your Slann: for the disciplines give him: rumination. The extra "free" die per spell cast is Great!
Maybe even bacalming cogitation, but thats mostly for the HE player. Taking away 6's can really, really hurt an opponent who relies on casting spells.....AND you can't go wrong with cupped hands of the old ones......Saving your Slanns @$$ when snake eyes are rolled is.........(fill in the dots...)

maybe you can drop the EOTG for an ancient steg.....I'm not sure this guy will add something extra......

With the points saved you can split your SW unit. I think 2 blocks of 20 (something) will be better then one HUGE unit.....If you want to go for mucho atk...take the spears. if you want to go for staying power take Hw/s. It depends on your opponents......

your TG champion can take the iron curse icon for a WS........
