8th Ed. new army help?

hey everyone

i'm pretty new too battles but i've been painting for 1 year now with pauzes in the middle.
this is my army list so far i'm planning to get a mage soon so don't worry that i don't have any now.
also i'm dutch so forgive me for my inglish i know it isn't the best in the world :P

56x saurus warriors
50x skinks
21x templeguard
16x cold one cavalry
2x razordon
1x stegadon with great bow
1x saurus old blood
1x tiq taq to on swoop

that's it so far any thoughts anyone
i/m planning too take on my friend and nephew who own dwarfs and tomb kings
hope you can give me soma advice:)
 
the 56 saurus is a nice amount, you could use those as 2 nice sized blocks, perhaps with spears for some more attacks.

temple guard amount is ok, i like to run more but thats a personnel preference. youll most certainly want to put your slann in there, what with all the cannons (dwarves) and killing blow (tomb kings) out there.

stegadon will have a rough time against both of those armies. dwarves have the shooting to take it down quick and tomb kings have some nice new monsters to do the same in CC.

razordons are kinda meh overall but they can be useful for denying a flank, perhaps with the stegie if you take him too (this will be semi-useless against dwarves but could be helpful against tomb kings).

youve got a lot of skinks, so you could either run them as skirmishers with javelins/shields (more effective IMO), buy some kroxigors to odd to the block of 50 for a big horde OR proxy them as counts-as chameleon skinks to go warmachine hunting.

the CoC will find both of those matchups tough, but taking them against TK might be good for flanking some chariots

Id say overall the only thing your truly missing is some form of effective warmachine hunting/lone character harrasment. since your getting a slann, your magic phase should be well under control. either do the proxy chameleon thing or pick up some terradons to accompany tic-taqtoe
 
thanks so far, i'm goingtoo order some terradons for tiq taq.

at the moment 36 of my saurus have spears.

after the slann i think the next addition will be another stegadon, 2 salamanders 4 terradons and 3 kroxigors.

for now my nephew only has a battalion a bone giant and a screaming catapult and my friend all the warmachines exept for the normal cannon, dwarf warriors, miners and lord on shieldbearers.


can i post pics here too? or should i do that on anotherpost area
 
you can post pics here. the salamanders are a great addition. id keep the spear saurus together for a big block and use the rest for a smaller flanking unit. ive got 12 steggies, so i always encourage more :). think about using him as an EotG or a Chief with a Warspear
 
wow 12 stegs that's a lot of rampaging meat haha
i'm thinking on modelling the new steg into a mazdamundi version:)
but first things first i need too paint everything i own now :P
and for now that's a lot lol

i've also made my own skink standard bearer and musician :)
hoping on posting some pics soon
 
yea, 12's a lot. 3 more and im done :). going for a legal 20k list, currently at 17k. theres a post somewhere on here with some pics if your looking for some inspiration. and im still painting, will be for the forseeable future :D
 
lol i am not really saying anything usefull in this command but just wanted to tell yorrick1191 that he is the first dutch person i see on this forum (I am dutch too)
 
Well ancient stegadon,your the first dutch guy I have seen here lol (ik heb je ook als vriend toegevoegd hoop dat je het niet erg vind)
 
hmmm i was like maby we can play a game some time but that is a prity far travel ;P
