If this spell is cast on a warmachine does it automatically mean that that warmachine cannot be used?

It says that unless its leadership or toughness warmachine auto fail all characteristic tests? In which case against a Brettonian player (trebuchets) or a empire army with a range of 24" It could be really useful for garenteeing the shut down of a warmachine if your skinks havn't taken it?

It uses the statistics of the crew. The machine does not fire itself, the crew load and fire the warmachine....unless its a hellcannon

Seriously though, you use the highest stat of in the unit, which would be the crew if it was a LD test.

Not sure about this one. the net would actually be affecting the crew. So the test would be at their str value. But it does state that they auto fail characteristic tests. You could argue that effectively, I think.

The spell does not effect the crew they are just wound counters, and the machine is stuck there due to it's rules preventing it to pass streinght tests.

It seems p108 states, warmachines automatically fail non T or LD tests. Seems a little silly to me but oh well. Also, the crew are not simply wound tokens, warmachines have a split profile and both profiles matter, just not for this.

It says that a Warmachine has a split profile using the strength of the crew but it states that warmachines fail all characteristic tests except toughness and leadership. So even though a Trebuchet has strength 3 or something, it still fails strength tests and cannot shoot and takes wounds.

Yep, this totally works! I play dwarfs and this would hurt if you got it of on my S5 stone thrower. Probably should save your scrolls, but would be a needed dice dispell. Don't you wish skinks could take light instead of heavens?
