You are in luck as there is a rather extended current thread that is ongoing dealing with daemons of chaos at http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/daemons-of-chaos.9699/. Your opponent is likely bringing skulltaker(SKT), a daemon SC that has heroic KB in a challenge on 5+. However, it also has flaming attacks so the dragonhelm or dragonbane gem provides excellent protection. SKT can be deployed in any daemon unit and can be mounted as well. If mounted, be careful as the mount also has KB and is not flaming. Key is to let SKT beat up rank and file and win a war of attrition through combat resolution. Apart from that, the thread has a number of good ideas and observations that should help.
