8th Ed. Need help 1000 pts vs WoC

Hey guys,

This is gonna be oure first 8th e game to test out the rules, but i want to win

I know hes going a cannon and prob a horde of mauraders

So chameleon skins are a must and the sallys.


He also prob is not going for a mage.


Soo here's my list sofar.



Skink priest lvl 2 +plaque of tepok 3spell mage

Saurus scar vet halberd LA potion of speed. cheap can opener and the pot vs his heroes.

24 Saurus with spears and Banner

11 Skink Skirmishers jav+shield

6 Chamoleon skinks

5 Saurus calv no upgrades <-- flank charger

2 Sally + xtra snack

999 pts

Hey! I'm a noob also working on a 1k army, so im probably not the one to ask. But since this thread, like mine, is getting no replies yet, I thought I should drop by and give my two cents anyways.

I've read pretty much every 1k army on the first 10 pages of this board, and this is the first one I see with cold one cav. My guess why they aren't picked that much is because they are pricey.

Now I havent played a game for about ten years but from what I know the WoC warriors and knights have sick armor saves, so you of course need a strong hammer. That means kroxigor, cold one cav or stegadon at 1k, not counting characters. I personally chose a stegadon for that purpose, but I'm still unsure about how good that is. Maybe COC can do it, but you only get Strength 5 hits and only on the charge. A steg is only another fifty points, and three kroxigors are cheaper than the COC with more attacks, more wounds and strength 6 hits, only 2 inches slower with no stupidity. Given that chaos has so little shooting, id probably go with the kroxigors actually.

The chaos marauders I hear are op now because they are so cheap. Well, sallies should take care of them pretty well and saurus should pick them apart. And I'm guessing the chameleons are for the cannon. Seems good! Id tell you to get more skirmisher skinks but with chaos armor I see why you only pick 11 of them.
