8th Ed. My first list, 2000pts

Hello, all,

this is my first post here, though I have been hovering around for a while. Firstly I would just like to say that this is a great forum.

I have been flicking through the army book and have come up with what I hope would be a good all comers list.

Slann, battle standard, rumination, becalming, cupped hands
skink priest, engine of the gods, dispell scroll
20 saurus warriors, full command
22 skinks, full command, 2 kroxigors
10 skink skirmishers
20 temple guard, full command, sun standard of chotec
9 chameleons
salamander, extra crew
salamander, extra crew
2000

I think that as a list it will allow me to be quite flexible. I think that with this list I could take a variety of lores for the slann, as I don't want to just rely on light/life, I would occasionally want to tear people apart with fire or drop comets on their heads.

What do you think?

that is a very solid list, my only recommendations are to drop the skrox unit in favor of another unit of saurus warriors and to give the slann focus of mystery.

I second that opinion. To have the option of having all the spells will give you more flexibility and more option to when you need it the most. Slanns can handle ANYTHING. You have a very well acquainted magic focused army, i might want to use this myself agianst my high elf friend.

I really want to keep the skrox unit as I find it was the visual effect of them that made me start lizardmen, what I could do is drop the cupped hands and a chaem skink to give the slann mystery. This basically leaves me lumped with life.

I will then have 7 points left over to upgrade one of the chaems to a stalker making the list 1999

You should keep the Skrox unit for 2 reasons. First, you like the model!!! Secondly, a Skrox unit is a very versatile unit. They pack a punch, have great movement, can shoot, have static CR and can negate rank bonuses. It's all about using them the right way. Pick your fights with them, don't throw them against a deathstar unit alone, it's not their purpose!!!
