7th Ed. My first army list ever (1500 pts)

Hello from Austria!

So i started with Warhammer a few months ago, but due to my final exams I wasn't able to spend as much time on my army as I wanted to, but now I have the time for it

I decided to start with Lizardmen because I really like the fluff (i think thats how you call the background etc ), especially the skinks.

So this is the army list I'm currently working on:

1x Scar Vet

2x Skink Priests

15x Saurus Warrior (spears, musician, banner, is it worth to upgrade one of them? - don't know the english term for it)
15x Saurus Warrior (same as above)

12x Skink Skirmishers (Blowpipes, and same question: is it worth it to upgrade one of them?)

12x Skink Skirmishers (see above)

3x Kroxis

3x Teradon

Unfortunately I don't own the 7th Edition Army Book (will buy it today or tomorrow...) so I don't know which items are available and which I should use, I would appreciate some tips and critics

Side Note: Right now I can't afford an eotg or a slann (but both will follow for a 2k(+) army)

Welcome, now for business

saurus with spears are realy worth the extra cost and for the command it is realy personal preference. i always field one big saurus unit with full command.
the skink skirmishers are good as they are no need for javelins or a brave that's just not worth the points and i would make 2 units of 10.

good luck and post what u give your heroes then we probably can help you futher.

Is there a special reason why I only should use 2x10 skirmishers instead of 2x12?

well...the scar vet should get light armour imo, and maybe the other skink priest (without diadem) should be upgraded to lvl 2 for more hitting power....

I love skinks too- but why the kroxigors?

skink should be in units of 10 because they are more easy to hide behing something and are mostly to sacrefice so they should be as cheap as possible.

and i totaaly agree with reveredGaurdian that your hero needs armour but not about the kroxigor's because i have no clue what's wrong with them. the only thing i see wrong are the chameleon skinks. they are not worth the points if ya ask me i prefer a extra unit of skinks but you might want to give it a try it is all what you like.

Units of skinks in 10s are easier to hide and cheaper from a points standpoint. The only reason to actually run more would be to run 13x instead of 10x to help avoid panic checks. Or if your list is 7 points short of its maximum (IE 1493/1500) and adding another skink is the easiest way to maximize your list.
