My Dread Saurian

Hey guys today for Christmas I got a Dread Saurian. It is amazing! I’ve assembled it using superglue and greenstuff (for extra support for large pieces). I plan to start rounding up some GW paints to paint it. Here is the color scheme I want (pic posted above) and color suggestions? Please tell me what GW colors to get to match this. Ty for your help!

Abaddon Black,Khrone Red, Mephiston Red, Dawnstone, Stormvermin Fur?, White Scar (only because every pot of Cermite white I have ever opened was absolute trash), Ulthuan Grey?, Nuln Oil, Balthasar Gold, Ghena Gold?, Stormhost Silver?, & any middle tones for the colors above.

I would also think about investing in some nice brushes. Maybe Series 7 by Winsor and Newton.

I got my paints I will post a pic soon so I don’t have to list them. Also I got a nice Kolinsky Sable brush off amazon and they are amazing! They are ultra light and it has a super fine tip one. And I will post pics on the way lol. I made sure to use GW paints for this Dino because I want it to be the best quality I can do. Wish me luck lol.

My progress so far. I added a lot to the model today. Please help critique this and give me tips to improve it. This is my prize model so I want it as perfect as I can make it.

Your color blocking is coming along. You might want to green stuff in that join gap on the rear left leg while you are still blocking out your base colors.

He just needs some touch ups and then you are ready for washes

Sorry for the delay I didn’t like the way the spines were turning out so I redid them as well as fixed up some more parts of the dread. I also added a reikland fleshshade around the body to give it a nice glossy look. Tell me what you guys think so far as well as tips to how I could improve it. I also wanted to add something to the spikes but I don’t know how. I think adding minuscule touches of black such as what happened in the picture I’m mimicking would be great but I don’t know how to do so without getting to much.

The red skin looks good, and the metal parts, too.
You might want to do a little highlighting on the metal parts in the end if they look too dark. A very soft drybrush with silver for example.

The spikes look a lot better now, but I think I would give them another thin layer of shade.

I think the part you should work a bit more on is the grey belly. But I admit I struggle with highlighting grey myself so I cannot give a whole lot of advice on that. Maybe give it a dark or brown wash and then softly drybrush with a lighter grey.

ty for input also I forgot to mention this but I’m planning to redo the belly with most likely praxeti white non drybrush (I bought the drybrush version on accident) also what color should I highlight the metal with?

The problem with grey is when you highlight it ends up going into white, shade the grey with blue then highlight using grey/blue that way you avoid it going white.
