Hi!

I just finished the third article on AOS-Tactics.com.
This week's Post: Maximising your Deployment

I discuss how and why you can:
  • Know who will decide on the first turn.
  • Know the threat range and average damage output of all units in the game.
  • Adapt to your opponents drops.
    • Pressure enemy key targets.
    • Pull apart enemy synergies.
    • Deploy your key units last.
  • Pressure objectives.
    • Focus on objectives that are the least covered by your opponent to force them to spread out.
    • Focus on objectives that are pressured by your opponent to pressuring them into investing more units.
  • Deny teleportation by using their 9″ minimum distance.
  • Pressure teleportation opportunity’s by punishing your opponent for failing long charges.

I would love your input and feedback!
Did I miss anything? What would you like to read about next? Let me know!

Another article well developed.
A friend of mine that is learning the game with dwarfs, deployed his 2 cannons as first units, giving me the huge advantage to decide where to field my key units. It gave me the victory on a plate.

Did I miss anything?

When you discussed the "teleport armies", imo there are a couple of points that must be underlined.

for "teleport" it's useful to remember people that also armies as dwarfs, tomb kings, Flesh Eater and similar, possess units that can be deployed "out of sight": miners, scorpions and so on.

Second, and more important, is that those units give a particular kind of advantage: you always should "set-up" them for first, effectively bypassing a deployment phase. This way:
- your opponent will be forced to set-up 2 or 3 of its units wihout a single point of reference of your deployment
- when you will start to effectively place your units on the battlefield, you'll have a clearer vision of your opponent's deployment
