I want to run a magic based list, I also want the list to be strong. Your comments and suggestions are very very welcome here.


Slann -Pts. 450
Magic items:
Cupped hands of the Old Ones, Plaque of Protection
Disciplines:
Focus of mastery, Becalming cogitation, Focused Rumination

Skink priest with EOTG at lvl2 -Pts. 430

Edit: Removed Carnosuar/old blood replaced with slann, removed equipment on the second priest(points may need to be adjusted still).

You are going to need something that will hit hard, so get some saurus in there, maybe some Cold One Cavalry.
Also Venom of the Firefly Frog will have no effect if you take the Scimitar. I would also suggest dropping either the dispel scrolls or the diadem, you already have six dispel dice if you keep the diadem that means 8 dispel dice and six power dice.
Droppong the venom and the dispel scrolls gives you 60 points to pay around with.

I appreciate the advice, the changes have been made. What units do you mean when you say i need more hard hitters?

It's difficult to have a magic based LM list without a Slann. I realize that this is a matter of preference but level 2 skink priests won't stack LM magic high enough to warrant a 'magic list'. If you want to play a magic based list and still have some hitting power, you could drop the Carnosaur, bring a Slann for your lord choice and give yourself a scar veteran on a cold one.

I won't say that you have to make these changes to be successfull at all, but these thoughts are generally my impression of the list as compared to what you say you want it to be.
 
You have a very good point, I have updated my list to include a Slann.
