So I’m pretty much caught up on my podcasts and am running dry on ideas for new book series to listen to. I’m looking for recommendations for new book series , any genre (fantasy, sci fi, steampunk, whatever), just looking for a new series to dig into! The only catch is that it has to be audiobook as I only listen while I commute. To give you all an idea of the kind of stuff I like, I recently finished the Wheel of Time and have worked my way through the Ender series and Dresden, just listened to Boneshaker and tried Zombie fallout but wasn’t really feeling it past book 2. I’ve already ordered the first few books from Sword of Truth which was recommended by one of my local pals but am def interested in getting some more suggestions!

Try the Night Angel series by Brent Weeks or Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series, Way of Kings or Elantris

Yeah I liked the Mistbourn trilogy well enough but it felt a little forced, ie "oh woe is me, if only i had these magic powers everything would be better! Whats that, I have magic powers now?!?" Alloy of Law was fantastic though, love that book and have listened to it multiple times! Sanderson is def getting better as a writer though sometimes I just dont feel it, best way i can describe it is he spells out how characters are feeling instead of making the reader feel the emotion, kinda hard to explain =/ Forgot he was writting Way of Kings, I'll check that one out, thanks for the tip!

You're welcome! Also Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen or the Black Company by Glenn Cook are great books

2nd vote for the Night Angel series, just finished reading it and loved it

Anything by Terry Pratchett is gold though if you are new to Discworld I recommend Guards! Guards! As your first stop

Not sure if these are available as audiobooks but I also really like the following series

Rangers Apprentice - John Flanagan
Shadows of the Apt - Adrian Tchaikovsky
Codex Alera - Jim Butcher (very different to Dresden, I actually like it better)

Enjoy

I will fully endorse everything aidanlynch mentioned. All of George R R Martin's Game of Thrones books are on audiobook as well.
