8th Ed. Lizardmen 2k for summer campaign

Hello people!

since i'm a newbie, im trying to build up the list. first of all, i don't really like magic phase, but you know the rumor has it that slann has been pretty devastating. so i bought one for summer campaign.

here we go:

Lords - 485
Slann
- extra PD
- knows all spell
- remove enemy 6's roll
- cupped hands
- BSB (sun standard)

Heroes - 498
Skink priest (lv 1) on a. steg EoTG
- plaque of tepok

Scar-vet on cold one
shield and burning blade of chotec

Core - 714
Saurus Warriors - 30 (ten wide 3 ranks horde)
- spear and full command

Skinks skirmishers 3x10
- 19 brave (for fun and filling up the slot)

Special - 225
Cold One cavalry
- full command

Rare - 75
Salamander

TOTAL - 1997

I really2 wanted to bring more blocks of saurus and more skink priests. but that's all i got right up to this moment. when i got more funding. i'll definitely get more soldiers.

please give comment on what to improve

PS. so far i had 3 1,5k matches and win all of them (2 VC and 1 Ogre). note that this is my first time bringing slann as my general. before, i brought old blood on carnie.

Well,,, at 2 k you can't have both the priest and the scar vet, only 500 points for heroes,
And I'd take a level 2 priest rather than the level one with the plaque due to the new casting dispel rules.

I've got some questions: How is the Skink Priest on Engine that many points? And how is the unit of saurus that many points? Also, how many cold one cavalry are in that unit?
Just my thoughts on the matter.

I think he's added the Points for the heroes together,
And Thats only what? 6 COC and a banner?

i really wanna describe each of the point, but it is against the forum rule. i'll do my best.

first of all, what is COC? and yes one banner (sun standard) carried by slann.

5 cold one riders on 1 unit.

any comment?

note: i just played a draw with ogre kingdoms. his gorger charged my slann but somehow the slann survived the charge. so he almost KILLED the frog. that's the main drawback i think. also what to do against ogre?

Or COR= cold one riders,
It gets boring to type after a while,
I'd still take a level 2 priest over the level 1 with the plaque,
Better bonus to cast,
Other than that? It's not bad, COC arnt fantastic, bit they do come in the battalion box,
One good anvil, one half decent hammer, (the CoR)
Some serious spell casting, especially if you up the priest to a level 2
Only thing is, where does the slan go?
There's no TG, so he's on his own?
Lose the standard and give him ethereal,
Voilla, very hard to kill

yes he's on his own cos i think TG is a waste of point. BUT after my slann got charged from gorger (or anyone that can show up anywhere), i think i might need TG. thanks man!

and also i don't think LoF was good enough. i should go for another lore then..

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but having horde gives you supporting attacks in the third rank. Does this mean with spears, you would get supporting attacks in the 4th rank? If that is the case, then having spears 3 deep would be a waste and you would have to run it 4 deep to benefit completely.

Correct, that unit would be better off running 6x5 to maximize frontage for damage and to try to keep steadfast for as long as possible.

LM don't do hordes well IMO, skinks aren't tough enough and saurus are too expensive and their bases are too large to get the full use out of it. No real loss though, as we do other things far far better than most other armies.
