i have been playing lizardmen for a few years and i love the new book i love magic and combat but i am not so good at making lists can someone help me out with a 1500 pt magic heavy with some combat involved?

I'm afraid no one is going to make a list for you, you need to do it yourself. What you can do is look through some of the lists in the army list forum and see what people are doing, then base your list off the one you like best. But list building is an important part of the game for any player, and only you really know what oyu want in an army and from a list. Once you get something down, even a rough list, people will be more than happy to comment on it.

I will suggest a list for you,

24 groups of ten skinks

3 lvl 2 skink priests.

It can saturate the field, have a fair amount of ranged attacks, maybe, just maybe, beat something in the flanks, and your priests could still pew things that are hateful.

Magic, shooting, AND combat... very balanced. And don't skinks come in boxes of 24 now?

If you don't know what you want to take, either just take the models that you like the most. Or post a draft in the army lists forum for people to comment on.
You can take a pretty basic army with a slann, some saurus and skinks, terradons, salamanders and a stegadon or two. That should be fine in most cases.
