8th Ed. Giant blowpipes on Ancient steg

So, my friend who plays high elves and is a notorious rule nazi (not my idea of a nickname but its already stuck for good reason XD) Who demanded to see where it says the A.steg can move and shoot, I couldnt find anything on the page that said either way. Ive seen on the errata it says treat these weps as a warmachine, but I dont have my BRB to hand.

Any help on where / when / how the blowpipes should be fired so I dont get my ass chewed again XD

Lizardman army book, page 55, Howdah Weapons paragraph 2): Howdah weapons can be fired even if the beast moves, but not if it marches.

Seems pretty clear.

So I'm afraid that your friend's elves will regularly be eating 4D6 poison darts from now on...

Well in the heat of our local game group apparently I lost the ability to read haha!

nah. it's easy to miss stuff like that. i had to look up the same thing for salamanders something like 12 times before it finally sank in, and half the time i skimmed right by it.

just don't forget that every skink not firing a blow gun can throw a javelin. in most cases, that will only be 3, but if you get charged from a very short distance, then you may be limited to stand and shoot with only your javelins.

Wow! I have always forgotten that. In my mind, I think blowpipe, not javelin.

I've always remembered the javs on the spare guys actually. But the short range Stand and Shoot will be handy
