8th Ed. First time 1500 point list for a tournament (3options)

okay so i dont have the list right now with me but i know what i have there:


slann ( rumination , cuppedhands,divine plaque of protection) Bsb general

skink priest lvl 1 (Dispel Scroll)

25 sauros warriors FC (Hand Weap and shield)

25 sauros warriors FC (Hand Weap and shield)

2 salamander hunting pack

the second option is :

basicaly what changes is that by taking 1 salamander of each unit i can get 2 new units but i would like some opinions about the lists ty all =)
 
Personally, I like the 3rd list. I think 2 salamanders is enough (max 3) at this points level. Also, skink skirmishers can be quite powerful (not individually lol).

Also, have you considered dropping one unit of saurus and having one even bigger block of saurus (say 30 ish) and getting a scar vet? That would be how I would build it anyway.

Lastly, the lore you go with on the slann will impact your play style. What lore are you thinking of?
 
i'm thinking in life i like shadows aswell but usualy i go with life

about the sauros i see what u say but i like to have 2 blocks of em to play with but tnks for the opinions for now =)

I like the first list by far the best. There is no such thing as enough salamanders.
 
one more thing i wanted to know too is if u guys think its a good list for a tournament .

I never player 1500 point lizzardmen.

I dont think the priest will be effective in tourny. Drop the plaque and bsb if your running lore of life. Also id drop the priest too. Give slann dispell scrol if you want. You need a hammer.addscar vet with a magical weapon. Only 2-3 sallies. Only one unit of chamo skinks 6-8. Also drop champs for sauri units really not worth the points. I dont like muscians either but to each his own. If you horde the sauri with spears and a scar vet/ magical weapon (sword of anti heros is my fav) should do some serious damage.
Btw these are very effective in tournaments for 1.5k
Light or Death slann with crown of command and ethereal (if no temple guard)
Scar vet on cold one with dawnstone and magical weapon.
 
i like the plaque because most of the time i run him alone . that's why i was choosing it and that's why i placed the priest because i needed a priest to carry the scroll
 
If you decide to run the slann solo, then I'd take the plaque of protection. If he's with saurus, then you don't need it so much. If you take life, you may consider not taking the cupped hands as you'll get miscast protection from throne of vines (you could replace it with the plaque of tepok to get another spell- your call though).

I think maximum 2 units of chamo's and regarding Ronisman's comment, sure you can take more sallies but I find it more *fun* to play with more variation- also you get diminishing returns when you saturate the field with the same units. I play with 2 personally but 3 would be alright (IMO).

I'd keep the skink priest. Remember that if the slann is carrying the cupped hands (or plaque of tepok) he can't carry a dispel scroll as well. Iceshard blizzard isn't half bad either... :)

One last comment. Saurus champions are generally only worth it if you have a character in the unit (i.e. slann or skink priest), I agree with dissapointed1 that you prob don't need them with solo slann.

+1 for scar vets on cold ones! (though crown of command is what I'd go with)
 
ty so much for all the help . i'm rly thinking on going with solo slan that's why i choose that build , droping the cupped hands might be good to get an extra spell and its a thing to think.

about the sauros champs i will take em off .

im thinking in 2 things or getting the 2 x 10 skinks skirmishers units


or a scar vet on a cold one but im just afraid that as he is alone he will die fast =|
 
Put the scr vet on cold one with dawn stone in a unit of saurus. Gets look out sir and re roll failed armour saves.
