Hello scaly brethren!

I'm heading to a 2-dayer tomorrow (Octocon in NJ, if anyone is going) and i'm struggling on deciding the last ~240 points in my Fangs of Sotek list. I've run this list all year and in general I just find the Scar Vet on Carno to not really pull it's weight.

My games are always games of attrition, can you kill 90 saurus and another 60+ skinks over the course of the game, and the little bit of extra damage i get from the Scar Vet just doesn't seem to really go that far.

I'm considering replacing it with an EoTG or a Astrolith Bearer + something (maybe palisades, maybe more skinks) to just lean more into the whole battle of attrition philosophy.

Any thoughts? My current list is below.

Old Blood on Carno w/ doppleganger
Sunblood w/ coronal shield
Skink Starpriest
Scar Vet on Carno w/ d6 mortal wound weapon

40 Saurus

That's what I was originally thinking as well. I kind of like having the hit reroll from the astrolith bearer tho, i was a little concerned that losing the scar vet would completely kill any killing power my list had and i think the astrolith bearer helps that a little bit.
 
Okay, this time i'm ready to roll. I fought off Nurgle and nothing can stop me now!

I'm taking the list to Da Boyz GT this upcoming weekend and will try to pull together some kind of battle report/post tournament run down of how the list does.

I'm expecting a 2-3 at best, but we will see!

About to start my last game!

So far ive played:

DoK
Monster FEC
Shooty Cities
Syllesseke host

Edit: final game was against shootcast with 9 longstrike, 10 evos and some hunters or something.

Ended up 3 and 2 with my two losses against dok and slaanesh. DoK game was super close, scorched earth, i engaged too much early and i got 3 points on my burn. he got 8, ended up winning 22 to 15.

Slaanesh tabled me by turn 4 and ended with more keepers than he started with! It was starstrike and 2 of the 3 points dropped basically inside his army so it was going to be an uphill battle but i made a few costly mistakes. I had my screen too far forward which let them get a bunch of extra movement out of a long charge and didn't have my doppleganger carno in a good spot to counter assault. Got rolled pretty hard, but was still a great learning experience :)

Overall was an absolute blast. Super happy with the list, felt like i made some definite missplays but it held up better than expected even against some really nasty lists.

Overall, really quite happy with how the list is doing considering its predominantly saurus. Definitely not a play style for everyone but i enjoy it and theres only been a few games where the list genuinely felt totally outmatched (looking at you bonereapers).
