Hi there,
I´ve played last weekend my first and second game on the 8th. I´ve used the same list and played against Warrior of Chaos and Empire. Won the two games. 2500 points (which we are assuming that these will be the current points for tornaments.
My list, as i remember, was:
Slann (lone)
with 3 disciplines (mastery, rumination and stone)
Cupped Hands
BSB
ward +2 against all missiles
Skink Priest, 2 level
Engine of Gods, dispell scroll
Saurus Scar Vet
light armour and shield
20 Saurus, spears
full command
20 Saurus, spears
full comand
10 Skinks, blowpipes
10 Skinks, blowpipes
10 Skinks, blowpipes
5 Chamaleons
3 Terradons
Ancient Stegadon
3 Salamanders Hunting pack
As we all are learning the new edition there was some strategies mistakes, but the two games was really great, the only thing that I did not like was the charge (2d6), but everything else is fantastic.
I´ve used on both games the Lore of Life with Slann, using first the spell that can negate a miscast on a 2+, this also booster your nexts spells, and everytime that a Spell is sucess the Slann or the heroes could regenerate 1 wound.
Well, what can I say, Saurus with T 8 on close combats, Skinks with T 6. Was fantastic and so the faces of my friend fighting skinks with T6... Other good stuff is the shield of Thorns that i´ve used 2 times and was effective. But, what was extremaly fantastic was the Regrowth, regenerate 1d6+1 in models... I´ve tried only once the Dwellers Below Spell, against Chaos was "fun", but against empire troops, with their T 3, was very nice!!!
Sallies OMG on both games it was brilliant!!!!
Those two games was very fun and reveals that you must have at least those two units of Saurus, with heroes, it is very important! I´m thinking in take out the chamos and Terradons and try to get a third full unit of Saurus...
At the end, well, the game seems a new game, it is more balanced that 7th and bad choices in your army list could be a real problems (ex.: the terradons seems not so much a good unit, but I´ll continue to try).
Cheers,
Marcos
