8th Ed. First 1500pts Lizardmen Army

I've have just started my first lizardmen army and would like advice on ranks and general layout.

Old Blood
cold one, shield, sword of striking, glittering scales

Scar Vet
Great Weapon, Shield, Dragonbane gem, Crown of Command

Skink priest
Level 2, dispel scroll

Saurus Warriors 23
shield, Spear, Musician, Standard Bearer
6x4 with scar vet.

Skink Skirmishers 12
javelin and shield
6x2

Skink Skirmishers 12
javelin and shield
6x2

Skink Skirmishers 12
javelin and shield
6x2

Chameleon Skinks 6
Stalker

Ancient Stegadon
Sharpened Horns

Salamander 1
Extra handler

Salamander 1
Extra handler

My problem is about the steg with rare cost.....
1500pts on the nose.

List is good in general, but a few tweaks is needed.

Firstly, you have to get rid of one of the salamanders in order to make the list legal.

Also, the stalker champion is a waste of ten points.

removing these saves you 94 points

Firstly I recommend getting a battle standard bearer for your lovely scar veteran.

Also, you have too much armour on your old blood (maximum is 6 points of armour, you have 7). I would reccomend getting a dawnstone and a great weapon =)

I would also consider losing the shield on your SV and getting the armour of destiny.

I will remove the stalker but what about just a baby steg with shape horn and stampede
Also I will beef up the SV the way you say.
I do have Gor rok but chose the scar vet over him.

Wow i'm looking at all this and i'm scared lol But a well thought reply like Ondjage gave you gives me hope.

I just joined the world of WH and yep i chose the Lizardmen and right now i'm a lot overwhelmed by all the stats, add-ons and magic.

Am i normal lol

I probably have enough to make a 2500 pts army but i don't know where to start really.

Argh lol
