Heej Guys,

Long time aos player, first time playing seraphon in aos. With the latest seraphon book I wanted to build a firelance army. I think i am the only one that likes the cavalry models XD.

But i need help with finishing the army list. In november i have a tournament that is mostly semi-competive. I like to bring weird list that no one expects. So i brought out the saurus cavalry.

At the moment my list is as follow:

Leaders
Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (230)
Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (210)
- Warspear
Skink Starpriest (120)
Lord Kroak (320)
Skink Oracle on Troglodon (220)

Battleline
10 x Saurus Knights (200)
- Lances
5 x Saurus Knights (100)
- Lances
5 x Saurus Knights (100)
- Lances

Battalions
Firelance Temple-host (160)

Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs
Bound Purple Sun of Shyish (60)

Total: 1720 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 1
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 85

So i have like 280 points left in my list. I was thinking of making a squad of 5 knights to ten ( i have 25 of those guys).

But i am missing some range or bodies. I watched some youtube stuff about the list. But i cant put my finger on what i am missing.

Any help or advice is welcome.

chameleon skinks are a great addition to a knight army. Lets you steal backfield objectives and snipe heroes.

I do think you are awfully light on bodies. 3 monsters is a bit rough, doesn't leave you much room for anything else.

Welcome to Lustria.

@Putzfrau beat me to the Chameleon Skinks. They are fantastic in most list, but Coalesced also benefits from their teleport and lack of reliance on Serpent's Staff buff.

What is your goal for the list. Are you looking to make it tournament quality, or just hoping to play some casual games with friends or at the LGS? If you are wanting to be competitive then I would drop the Carnosaurs for their Cold One and Foot versions. Their main utility to the army is the command abilities. This will free even more points.

Here is a list of things that are good for helping Saurus Knights:
  • Chromatic Cogs
  • Starseer
  • Sunblood
  • Skink Screens.

Heej guys,

Thanks for the feedback.

The idea is for a semi competitve list for tournaments. Don't have to win but I have to make it a good battle.

The chameleon skinks are a real good idea. I love those models.

And indeed I need some more bodies was thinking two untis of ten skinks just to screen.

And if I am not playing the troglodon to switch the kroak for a normal slann.

Some good pointers I think I will be playing one carnosaur the old blood and then the veteran on cold one to save points.

Thanks for the pointers

So i played my list against a friend this weekend. I played

Leaders
Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (230)
Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (210)
- Warspear
Skink Starpriest (120)
Lord Kroak (320)

Battleline
10 x Saurus Knights (200)
- Lances
10 x Saurus Knights (100)
- Lances
5 x Saurus Knights (100)
- Lances
5x saurus guard

Other:
3x kroxigor
8x salamander
Battalions
Firelance Temple-host (160)

Total: 2000/2000

He played a living city list. His idea was to deepstrike a durthu with soms other stuff. And come at me.
His list was:
1x hurricanum with wizard
1x knight azyros
1x durthu
1x drycha

battleline:
10x eternal guard
10x eternal guard
10x crossbow men

Other:
4x concussors
1x grundstok gunhauler

endless spells:
the wall.

I gave him the first turn. He moved up his army. And i could then one shot charge his concussors. with my carnosaur.... yeah i threw well. I could shoot away his screen lines.

i think is miss some extra units and i dont think that the formation adds to much.

I want to play more star priest. Because the buff is way to good. So now changing the list.
