8th Ed. Expanding From 1000-1500

Hello I am currently expanding my army from 1000 to 1500 points and was wondering where i should go from here, my main opponents are Skaven and the Ogre kingdom my 1000 point list is as follows

I Have at 1250 point battle coming up for which i am going to Add 5 Cold ones to harass his lead belchers which have reaked havok on my skinks (one shot took out 8 from one unit)

I have 10 more saurus, 10 more skinks, 8 COC and 10 TG at my disposal but with the issues i had at 1000 points (spanked silly by ogers) I figure that I will need more beefy creatures, i am debating between some Krox units or Terradons any help is greatly helpful thanks in advance

Upgrade your stegadon to an ancient. The blowpipes will be far more useful than that useless crossbow. Especially against ogres, just enjoy the look on his face when you blast him with 4d6 poison shots!

Get another unit of salamanders. While they aren't as effective against ogres, they are still good when you face other armies.

Beef up that saurus unit to 30 models to try and keep steadfast longer.

Add some chameleon skinks (at least one unit of 6, preferrably 2). They are really good on lower point levels since your opponent won't be able to set up a line of battle across the whole board. Deploy these guys as close as you can on his flanks or rear (preferably outside of charge arc). Maneuver them behind his line as he advances and just shoot him full of poison each turn. It will drive him batty.

The common consensus is that cold ones are not worth their points. However, if you do use them, ensure they attack the flanks or rear to limit the number of attacks they will have to endure before they can strike themselves.
