7th Ed. dragons?

i simply don' t understand why lizardmen don't have something dragon-like thing, i mean:
lizardmen: scaly reptillian men
dragon: giant scaly reptile that breathes fire
WHY

or just at least give us the coatl wich is descibed in the army book :(
i also don't understand why the freaking elves get almost all the dragons.... d'oh
 
The High-Elves get them because both their races go a long way back. They have fought a died together since pretty much the rise of the elves.

And as for why we don't get them, well, the Dragons aren't to keen on the Old Ones, as they warmed up the world and caused most of the Dragons to have to go into hibernation. Which of course means the Dragons aren't too fond of the servants of the Old Ones as well.

The Coatl would be nice, but can you imagine the whining players of other races would create by us having a un-killable, flying, magic, monster of death!

P.S. Have you ever considered that our Dragon equivalent is actually the Carnosaur? I wouldn't mind betting on the Carnosaur in a one-on-one fight against a Dragon either!

Are there rules for a coatl to be found anywhere?
 
Not realy I think a few fans made up some of their own rules...

If you look at the illuistrations in the new book you can find a few of them in the background.
 
Didn't they come out with some rules for the coatl in a White Dwarf some years ago??
 
It was in the all-dinosaur army they made, which was hilarious.
 
Coatl could be included just powered down like the Slann

I also think that a larger flier like a Quetzalcoatlus type thing

Another larger therapod could be nice

Also I think Thunder Lizards, while most wouldn't think their a good idea, could be possible, but you must have at least a Slann and Skink Priest level 2 in your army to keep them under control, if in the course of the battle you don't have that criteria covered then it'll go wild and maul anything and everything on the table while the lizardmen on top hang on for dear life
 
Yes, we should have a dragon, and so should everyone else. And we should probably have a scaly skinned varghulf, and a reptillian steam tank, and everyone else should have their own versions of those too. Oooh, hang on, now everyone has the same army list :(

Its probably just best to keep a bit of individuality amongst the lists, and to be honest that works in our favour, everyone wants dinosaurs!
 
Oh also fluff wize Dragons realy don't like Lizardmen,
since dragons are the only origional sentient inhabitant of warhammer world
the Old Ones exterminated tons of them to make room for their creations.

There was an insectoid type creature in one of the Gotrek & Felix novels that remembers the arrival of the Old ones. Its towards the end of the book and the reader is told about it as the insectoid thing is dying.

So, dragons and insectoid thing.
 
Actually Stegadons were to if you go by the lizardmen army book. It say
"Stegadons are a race of mighty beasts that has dwelt within the primeval jungles since long before the coming of the Old Ones."

DUDE!!! WE GET A CARNOSAUR, UNLIMITED STEGADONS (well up to the max points of course), COLD ONES, KROXIGORS, ONE OF THE BEST HERO CHOICES IN OUR SCAR-VET, TERRADONS, AND A TOAD THAT IS SUPPOSE TO BE ONE OF THE BEST MAGIC CASTERS IN THE GAME. THERE IS A HUGH AMOUNT OF MONSTERS THAT YOU COULD FIELD ON THE TABLE. and we don't need to fly, we move at least 12"

high elves get a dragon.
now if you're going to be jealous, its the Dark Elves, they get a dragon, manticore, Cold ones, hydra, pegasus, etc. and the riders get eternal hatred!!!


but that's all part of the game. which one to kill first? ;)
 
Even worse, hatred transfers from rider to mount so you fight Dark Elves and you are up against a black dragon with hatred!

I tend to agree that while dragons are big scaly beasts, their fluff in the warhammer world doesn't really lend itself to being in the jungle. What good is a dragon going to do in a dense jungle? Carnosaur is easily a match for most dragons anyway. :)
