Did it again...

For those of you who've been around here a while, you know that I have had some bad luck regarding my knee.
I've had several reconstructive surgeries, but after 3 years of rehab, I managed to start playing football (for the americans: soccer) again! I re-started in september 2012, but as of last weekend..well. The title says it all.

I once again twisted my knee badly, and my physical therapist thinks I once again snapped my ACL. Whatever it is, it is the end of my footballing carreer and in the worst case another rehab of 9 months.

There are no words to describe that feeling of reaching your goal after 3 years of waiting...then seeing you dream collapse as you grab for your knee again.
Sooo...just keeping you updated on this, not really in the mood for moderating/thinking of tactics and stuff. Not yet anyway.

Sincerest apologies to your situation. Knee injuries are very hard things to recover from. I had a limp for about 2 months last year from a motorcycle accident, and even though I am walking fine now I still manage to tweak it daily. But I haven't had surgery yet. That must have been rough.

I find the best time to get really wrapped up in Warhammer is when you are recovering from something! Reading the rulebooks, painting, making army lists, lurking forums, etc... Are you on crutches?

I am finding myself once again on crutches, yes.

At the moment, I am also in my exam period...so I have to study hard, temporarely ignore my situation and focus on what's in front of me: books.
As much as I hate it, I don't really have much choice..And as for as hobbying goes; Magic the gathering is my friend at the moment, but if I find the time I might focus both on Warhammer and on MTG.

Next monday I'll see my surgeon/orthopedist again and then we'll know more.

Good luck! Awful news, but hopefully your orthopedist gives you the all clear vis-a-vie surgery. Things'll pick up.

i had my dream crushed aswell, when i broke my for arm during rugby try outs for national leagues.
now i cant even do the jobs i want too!

So sorry to read all of this!

I, too, have had my dream snatched away from me.. though it has been 7 years ago. And this year seems to be the year of possibly going for it again. But like you, I am... excited yet nervous of my current condioning. It's hard. Really hard as when I "left" I was on top of my game, and now... yeah. Not sure what will happen. I am much older now and certain body movements simply don't move the way they use to. Reading up on your situation makes me even that more cautious.

I sincerely feel bad and sympathize for your condition. I hope that a speedy recovery comes swiftly and that, above all else, you will find some peace of mind and retention of hope.. in some way.. for you to achieve your dream or discover another that has been hidden from you.
