7th Ed. ?chmeleons or teridons?

i have started to collect lizard men and i have got to the stage were i need another special choice, my army is a casual army with the contents of the battalion, a steg, a skink priest & chief . i am currently saving up for a carnosaur so could you tell me wich is better terradons or the cheaper chamealeon skinks

Hmm... I can't decide, so I'm not going to vote. I use them both, at the same time.

Chameleon skinks are definitely cheaper money-wise, though, for someone starting an army on a limited budget. Terradons=huge GW $$$ rip-off.

I voted for Terradons, as I'm going down a similar path to what you have. Got the Batallion box, planning on a Stegadon and Skink Priests, though am after a Slann rather than a Carnosaur...

but, ultimately, I like the thought of speedy Terradons harrassing the enemy more than some Chameleon Skinks. Bit more visual variety to the army, and something completely different for the enemy to think about.

The other concern is the money it'll cost, never mind the points, and Skinks are much cheaper!

i would get a slann but i dont reeealyn get the magic that mutch i mean a skink priest i can hanmdle but a slaan is just to much for me also i might try convertinmg some of my skinks into chameleons with the bras leaves and some green stuff

Moving to General Discussion from Painting..

Really both are good and play similar roles but slightly differnetly, what works best will depend on your playstyle and what you prefer in a unit. Try proxying them for a couple of games and see which works best for you. Personally I would prefer terradons, but I haven't tried chams yet.

From a collectors standpoint first and foremost, terradons. I know they are pricey per model,
but even in the second hand market they are crazy expensive simply because no one sells them
unpainted! That tells me GW is probably the only major market that still has them available.

From a gamers point of view, for a lower point amount, especially, you want to go with
chameleon skinks, their level of harrassment is unbeatable, and talk about a redirecting unit!

As points go up from say 1k, then terradons begin to really fit the bill. Their flightiness really
adds a whole new tangent for the opponent, especially if he already is contending with either
a steg or a slaan (or even a carnosaur) all on top of a full unit of chameleon skinks raining
poison darts down on your opponents head!

So you will probably want to have both, so just go ahead and get the terradons as you can, and either
green stuff the chems, or hit the secondary market for a unit of them, couldn't run but maybe $15 USD
or #10 GBP; well that is what I paid!

how much iss it in ££ for a terridon cos i might get an xtra box of skirmishers, convert 6-8 into cham skinks then get a unit of about 3 teridons depending on cost.
