Tutorial Caleb's Seraphon Strategy Videos

My only problem with the Starseer is he has a 5'' movespeed, it just doesn't seem viable to use him for the 3D6 charge. Teleporting him with Lords of Space and Time to be wholly within 12'' feels kind of like suiciding him into the middle of the board. Who is going to be around to screen him or in anyway protect him? He's so slow compared to these. Doesn't it seem a bit impractical on the table to bank on that?

Well unlike a lot of other models you pretty much lose nothing if you run with him every turn (which you won't be doing with what you want to charge with).

As a result you can almost think of his movement as 5' + 3.5' (average d6 roll), or even 11' if you have the CP to auto run 6'.

Yep, def a risky move. I was just trying to figure out how to make the most of our gutted Shadowstrike battalion.

That’s understandable! I think with Fangs of Sotek and Chronomatic Cogs you can get a lot out of a first turn strike. Keeping them on the board seems like the best move. Keep their Chieftan near them for the CA and ability to like put other generic command abilities on them.

the first list I’m going to try is running 12 (2 blocks of 6), Kroxigors and 60 skinks with supporting heroes :P I love the models

Terradons vs Ripperdactyls

I want to make a correction to your threat range table at 11:43 for the Terradons. You get the base move and run correct at 26", but then you give the charge range as +4 to +13... you forget the 3rd die on the high side. their actual threat range is 30"- 45" with the buffs you are using.

I <3 Stegadons! Haha, the Steggy Chief is a beast with the right buffs!!

- Coalesced (+1 to Jaw attacks)
- Thunderquake (+1 to melee attacks)
- Constellation (+1 to melee attacks)
- TL Cmd Trait Prime Warbeast (+1 Mount attacks)
- Skink Chief Cmd Pt (+1 to melee attacks)

And he is putting out 22 damage vs a 4+ save! Nice! Not bad for just 1 cmd pt spent!

Get a bit more nuts...
- Reroll 1s to hit (StarPriest spell or Cmd Pt)
- Cmd Pt from Skink Priest for +1 to hit

And he is putting out 32 damage vs a 4+ save!

Just used essentially that build to defeat the Skaven! My Skink Chief on Stegadon blasted a horde of Clanrats from 40 to 19 with his flamethrowers and a MW on the charge. Then he was able to take out Lord Skreech the Verminking in the combat phase, and this was after taking 4 wounds from a Warp Lightning Cannon on the way there. He went down to another Clanrat horde after that, but the Skaven were crippled and my other two Stegadons, Lord Kroak, and a full-sized Salamander Hunting Pack were able to secure the win.

Beautiful!!!

Summoning got changed for Seraphon in the new Battletome! It is alot more random now, but NOT dead! Summoning is more of an added benefit of Starborne instead of a strategy to plan an army around.

Played a couple of games by now with Slann + Kroak + Astrolith + Trog and I have never summoned anything but 10 Skinks or 1 Salamander. I was gonna make a points to CCP ratio analysis myself since I was curious of the most efficient options, so thanks alot for this! Both options just seem to have the biggest outcome of all of them (obviously different roles of screen vs damage output) - It also makes sense seeing they are some of the better pointed options in regards to points to CCP ratio. I think we can all agree Salamanders are probably a bit too good at 80 pts, so the ratio of 8 is a little misleading imo.
