8th Ed. BSB Question

I'm new to warhammer, so bare with me on this more than likely noob question.

If I run a Saurus Scar Vet with one of the magic banners do I add the cost of the magic banner only or the magic banner plus the 25 for being a BSB? Do I have to run a BSB with the magic banner or are they kind package deal?

You need to be a bsb to have a magic banner so you have to add the points for bsb if you wish to use one.
