Hi Guys,
I've organised a friendly game with a friend of mine (he's got a Dogs of War army he's been working on) and I've got the following list for funsies.

I would not expect this would do very well in a tournament situation, but i recently got the chakax model and i'm dying to test him out!
Here goes;

Slann - 370 pts
Cupped Hands, Focus of Mystery, Focussed Ruminatin, Lore of Light

Chakax - 335 pts

21x Temple Guard - 416 pts
Razor Standard, Mask of Eee!

(4) 10x Javelin Skirmishers - 376 pts
Upgrade to Brave



I've put all my eggs into one basket, but it'll be exciting!
The game is on tomorrow night, so I'll update with how it went!

Seems okay, Chakkax is a bit overpriced in a lot of ways. Temple Guard with Slann are practically unbreakable already so he doesn't add much. Hope to see a battle report soon, I am interested in any and all cases of DOW actually being used since I collect them myself.
 
Agreed... The errata made chakax worth only about 2/3 of his cost. I love the model though!
Yeah you're right, the only thing it beats is the off chance that you'd fail 2 LD 9 tests in a row with cold blood.

I'll definitely try and get a report up but I'm online with my phone so it'll be brief and crappy!
 
Ok, here's the quick rundown of the game.
The Watchtower. Dogs of War holds the tower. Dwarf bowmen deployed in tower.

Deployment:
Dogs of War deployed 3 bolt throwers in the centre, the paymaster and unit of crossbows to his left of thee bolts, the merchant prince and unit of knights further left, dwarves with hand weapons further down. A small unit of 5 light cavalry on the right flank. He placed his scout dwarves right in front of me..

Lizards deployed as follows from my left to right: skirmishers, skirmishers, skirmishers, TG, skirmishers.

1st Turn:
Lizards:
Moved forward. A couple of minor kills, nothing much really. Nothing major.

DoW:
Attacked one unit of skirmishers and caused them to flee almost off the board. Killed a couple of TG.

2nd Turn:
Lizards:
Charged the tower, had a good buff filled magic phase. Moved skinks up and CC showed a few garrison dwarves, but they were steadfast and pushed me back.

DoW:
Killed 5 TG, chakax killed merchant prince, TG killed 6 knights

3rd Turn:
Lizards:
Slann miscasts and cupped hands sucks a fat one, kills 7 TG. Skinks kill 2 bolt throwers. Destroyed knights regiment.

DoW:
Attacks all skink units and force them to flee

4th Turn:
Lizards:
TG attack and overtake tower. Big buff magic phase. All skinks still run away.

DoW:
Skinks get killed. Rolls a 6 and ends the game.

LIZARD VICTORY!!!!!!
 
Most of the list shot huh? Against those sorts of lists Saurus units are very good because they can keep advancing depsite all the hits. The pattern was evident herer because the Temple Guard was an unstoppable juggarnaut and the skinks ran away alot.
 
Yeah, the skinks played their part perfectly,, holding up units and killing war machines. The TG unit would have been much more ready for the next attack(if the game hadn't ended) if cupped hands didn't fail... That was my only beef. Was a fun game.
