9th Age As the Reptilian Army Support my job is:

So I applied to become the AS for our army under the 9th Age Rules. My job will be:

- To moderate both the 9th Age Reptilian subforum and the army specific thread on warhammer.org.
- To gather relevant information and compile it, which will lay the groundwork for the final army book.
- Answer rule questions both regarding our army and army specific.
- Be the SPOC - Single Point of Contact for all army related questions - I'll be working closely with the actual Rules Team, to provide any and all answers.

On top of that I got the unique and lucky position to also be a member of this lovely place :D
That mean that I'll do my best to forward all your suggestions, feedback etc to the primary forum. I hope you'll support me in this so we can create the best product together :)

To be reasonable I'm going to sneak WS9 in for you. No need to go overboard straight away :)

On a serious note do mind that I have no direct influence on the actual balance. I'll forward everything you guys say and I'll post my own thoughts and suggestions, but I cannot guarantee what the actual balance team will do :)

I'm "only" support afterall :D

Fair enough... WS 8 Kroxigors will have to do.

I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job. Don't forget to mention the outrage over the Slann nerfing!
 
Pinktaco, Will you be collecting information about Special Characters to incorporate in the new army book, or are they being removed entirely from 9th age?

While I haven't yet heard anything about special characters my guess is that they're still in the game they just need to be updated. So yes I'll be collecting information about those as well :)
 
We could have a live Kroak now.
Although wouldn't most, if not all of the special characters need to be renamed.

Possibly. I know that I'm in the minority for saying this but I love the name for Lord Kroak, its a bad pun but I can't think of calling him anything else.

To be honest, if we are writing our own fluff now, why not combine those two ideas? Gor-Rok (or whatever we call him later) can be a Scar Veteran-type character with a special Spawning of Sotek to make him more aggressive?

I certainly would make him a lord but it would make Kroq-Gar a bit redundant as a lord character. Maybe the "hand of the gods" item that Kroq-Gar has could be moved to the Lizardmen Magic item list and his ability to take Cold One Cavalry as core could be permitted if a Lord/Hero level Saurus character took the Sacred Spawning that allows them to ride Cold Ones. Just a thought

I don't know about that, He is riding a monster, so he is filling another role.
Where Gor-Rok can join units, Kroq-Gar cannot.
Besides Kroq-Gar should get a boost too, I mean he is awesome in the fluff, but his rules does not reflect that at all. He survived the Daemon incursion for gods sake, and has battled on every continent and never lost, so how is he no better than a regular oldblood?
The hand of the gods is just silly, how is the hand of the GODS, so useless!

What I am trying to say is that with the 9th age, our monsters got better, so it would be a no brainer to include a monster riding saurus.

I see your point. I do agree that Hand Of The Gods is useless on him, but as a magic item, if revised into a close combat/enchanted item instead of a bound spell, it can still work. As for buffing him, what would you have in mind for that? I'd either raise his WS or I by 1.
 
Hmm I would change his spear, and his hand of the gods could be changed to something else more usefull. I would give him something that would help him be a better general, and probably something with Cold One riders, as he is kind of supposed to have an army of them.
His mount should be better.
Maybe with this new system regarding characters mounted untop monsters, give him a wards ave to the model, like the force shield.

If people are interested I could make my take on him, finished, just withouut a point cost, and then we could go from there and see how others like it.
